Fosso Cancelli
montepulciano D'Abruzzo DOP

Fosso Cancelli was born in 2007 from the strong will to make a great artisanal and traditional wine. This wine reflects the ancient soul of our winery and pictures a well defined historical moment that has made the history of our Montepulciano D’Abruzzo: fermentation in concrete. The name recalls the ditch that marks the vines from which are selected and harvested the grapes of Montepulciano. They are the most ancient vines of Loreto Aprutino’s estate which are displayed on the label to mark the strict bond with the territory. The grapes after being selected and hand picked are pressed in our ancient press and the must is transferred in concrete tanks. The fermentation takes place spontaneously through native yeast without control of temperature. At the end of the fermentation the decuvage is done and the new wine obtained is left to rest for one year in concrete tanks where it ferments. Following the wine is bottled where it ages for almost three years.
