Dedicated to the history and the natural caves of the first winery built in Miglianico in 1853, Antrum encloses the Ciavolich’s personality and centenary story rooted in Abruzzo. The grapes come from the vines planted by Giuseppe Ciavolich in the 60s and 70s on the estate of Loreto Aprutino. After being selected and harvested by hand they are taken to the winery to be destemmed and crushed. The must together with the skins ferments in stainless steel vats under controlled temperature. Following delestage and remontage are periodically done in order to extract colour and tannins useful to the long aging the wine will need to face. At the end of the fermentation, after the decuvage, the wine obtained is transferred half in barrique and half in tonneaux.
